Tech4Diet is not only a project but a starting point of a research line that includes several funded proposals. It is framed in the health challenges using ICT to improve the quality of life. The general idea is to provide a system that helps in nutritional treatment from the two points of view expert-patient.

Project schematic. Using a 3D acquisition system, an avatar is created in different moments of the treatment. Using VR, the adherence to the nutritional process is improved since the patient perceives the changes in a realistic way.

Main Objective

The main objective of the Tech4Diet research line is to develop tools that allow nutritionist experts in the analysis  and evaluation of treatments, as well as improving the adherence to those treatments by the patients.

A realistic 3D avatar of the patient is one of the key aspects of the T4D. This avatar is created in different moments  throughout the treatment to have a history of the patient. Along with the avatar, other biometric and psychological information is also included in the medical record to later analyze/predict the evolution over time.
