computer vision
What is CV?
Computer Vision (CV) is a set of methods and techniques that provide the sense of «vision» to the computers. In order to provide meaninful information from images, Computer Vision has methods to clean noise and artifacs, find patterns like corner or edges, and even estimate transformations to correct the orientation and position of those images. And, all these techniques are not only applied to color images, also to thermal data and even 3D images.
machine learning
What is ML?
Machine Learning (ML) provides the ability to find patterns and provide answers according to those found (learnt) patters for questions that has never seen before. Machine Learning can be used in many situations, finding trends in stockmarkets, predicting weather forecast, or helping experts interpret medical images among other uses. To do so, Machine Learning learns in a supervised or unsupervised way by means of many different techniques like artificial neural networks and Deep Learning, decision trees, genetic algorithms, etc.
About me
I am an associate professor in computer science. I’m passionate about computer vision and machine learning, and my work focuses on 3D data understanding, modelling, and registration. This website is my place on the internet to present who I am, my work, the projects I’m participating in, as well as a blog with interesting things about computer vision and machine learning.
Welcome to my place, I wish you find it interesting 😊
My projects
Here you can see the projects I’m participating in with other researchers and students. Groundbreaking stuff!!!
